5) What does less bottom rod mean on the Detex 20xW and should I order it?
Less bottom rod (LBR) deletes the bottom rod and drop bolt so the device latches only at the head. It is chosen where the bottom rod would be a trip hazard, would drag on an uneven or sloped threshold, or where floor conditions outdoors make a bottom strike impractical. Order it as the Less Bottom Rod: Yes option. With the bottom rod in place you get the hardened steel bottom drop bolt plus an ADA compliant ramped bottom bolt cover.

7) Can I use the Cal-Royal 9860 in place of the Detex 20xW?
