1) How many doors can a Detex RP-600 annunciator monitor at once?
That depends on which of the two RP-600 configurations you order. The 8 zone version mounts in a 2 gang switch box, and the 12 zone version mounts in a 3 gang switch box. Each zone is one monitored point, so an 8 zone panel covers eight doors or devices and the 12 zone covers twelve. If you have more monitored openings than that, plan on more than one panel.
2) What size electrical box do I need to rough in for a Detex RP-600 annunciator?
Rough in a 2 gang switch box for the 8 zone RP-600 and a 3 gang switch box for the 12 zone. The panel is built to drop into a standard switch box, so an electrician can set the box during rough-in and the panel goes in at trim out. Leave clearance behind it for the zone wiring to land.
3) Is the Detex RP-600 annunciator a standalone alarm, or does it need other devices wired to it?
It is a remote indication panel, not a door alarm by itself. The RP-600 shows the condition of security devices wired back to it, giving visual and audible indication at the panel.
