9) Should I order the top rod only version or top and bottom rod?
Top and bottom rod gives you two-point latching, head and threshold, which is the more secure setup. Top rod only drops the bottom rod and bottom strike, which keeps the threshold clear of hardware that gets kicked, mopped over and knocked out of adjustment, and it is the usual pick for interior cross-corridor pairs and openings where the floor is uneven.
