Depends on the height you order. The short sizes, 6 by 34 through 12 by 34, sit below the lock and clear it. Once you go up into the 16 by 34 and taller armor plate range, the plate reaches lock height on most openings and will need cutouts for the lever, the cylinder, or the touchbar mounting on an exit device. Measure from the bottom of the door up to the lowest hardware before choosing the height.
