Doorking 2351-082 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which DoorKing access controllers does the 2351-082 Quad Tracker Box work with?
The DoorKing 2351-082 Quad Tracker Box is built for DoorKing access control systems, specifically the 1833, 1835, 1837 and 1838 controllers. It houses the tracker expansion boards those systems use to track card and transmitter activity at additional entries.
2) How many tracker boards does the DoorKing quad box hold, and how many come with it?
The enclosure holds up to four tracker boards, but it ships with only one 2358-010 Tracker Expansion Board installed and pre-wired. If you need to track more than one additional entry, order the extra 2358-010 boards separately and add them into the three open positions.
3) Does the DoorKing 2351-082 quad box come with a power transformer or do I supply one?
A 16V, 40VA transformer (DoorKing part 1508-060) is included and factory wired to the board. You do not need to source a separate transformer for the box itself; you supply line power to the enclosure's outlets.
4) Can the DoorKing tracker quad box be mounted outdoors?
It's a lockable, weather-resistant enclosure, so it's built for field mounting rather than clean equipment-room use only. It is rated commercial duty. The four built-in convenience outlets inside mean each added tracker board's transformer has somewhere to plug in without extra receptacles.
5) Is the DoorKing quad tracker box UL listed for access control?
The 2351-082 quad tracker box meets UL 294 certification standards, which is the access control system units standard many institutional and multi-family specs call out.
6) I only need one tracker board. Should I buy the quad box or a single-board enclosure?
Buy the quad box when you expect to expand. It arrives pre-wired with one 2358-010 board and a transformer, and leaves room for three more boards plus outlets to power them. If the site will never track more than one entry, a single-board tracker enclosure is the smaller purchase; the quad box earns its place on phased or multi-gate properties where you'd otherwise mount a second box later.
7) How much wiring do I have to do in the field on the DoorKing 2351-082?
The box comes factory pre-wired: the included 2358-010 board and the 16V transformer are already connected inside. Your field work is bringing in line power, the data run back to the DoorKing controller, and the inputs from the entry devices you're tracking. Follow the 2351-082 installation manual for terminal assignments.
