A Gateway communicates to the server by either a direct connection to a USB (non-network) or Ethernet cable (network). A Router acts as a repeater, extending the radio frequency (RF) communication between the
Gateway and E-Plex Locks.

- No network drops needed for ≤ 100 locks using a Gateway in USB mode
