Dormakaba TBR BB 630 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What lengths does the Dormakaba TBR AA touch bar and rail assembly come in?
Two bar lengths are offered on the TBR AA: 36 inch and 48 inch. The 36 inch covers standard 3-foot door leaves and the 48 inch covers wider 4-foot leaves. Measure the existing rail on the door, not the door opening, and order the length that matches what is coming off.
2) Is the Dormakaba TBR AA for narrow stile aluminum storefront doors or wide stile hollow metal?
Narrow stile. The TBR AA touch bar and rail assembly is built for narrow stile exit device configurations, which is the aluminum storefront and narrow-profile door world. On a wide stile hollow metal or wood door you need the touch bar assembly matched to that device family instead.
3) Does the Dormakaba TBR AA include both the touch bar and the rail, or just the bar?
Both. It ships as a matched touch bar and rail assembly, so you are not sourcing the pushbar and the rail separately. Latch mechanism, end cap, strike and mounting hardware are separate items from the device itself.
4) Can I use the TBR AA touch bar assembly on a non-Dormakaba exit device?
Treat it as Dormakaba only. The TBR AA is a genuine Dormakaba replacement part made to fit supported Dormakaba exit device models. If the device on your door is another brand, the rail mounting pattern and latch linkage will not line up, and you should source the touch bar from that device's own parts line.
5) What finish is the Dormakaba TBR AA touch bar available in?
630 satin stainless is the finish offered, in both the 36 inch and 48 inch bar lengths. That is the standard satin stainless look on most commercial storefront exit hardware, so it generally blends with existing devices in a building running the same finish.
6) Is the TBR AA a repair part or a complete exit device?
It is a repair part, not a device. The TBR AA is catalogued as a replacement component for existing installations, so it restores or upgrades an exit device already hung on the door. If the door has no exit device at all, you need a complete narrow stile device, not this assembly.
7) How do I order the right TBR AA for a door with a worn pushbar?
Two things to specify: bar length, either 36 inch or 48 inch, and finish, which is 630 satin stainless. Confirm the device on the door is a Dormakaba narrow stile unit before ordering, since the assembly is made to fit supported Dormakaba models.
8) Is the Dormakaba TBR AA rated for commercial traffic in schools and hospitals?
It is a commercial-grade part, built for the traffic in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, warehouses, multi-tenant residential and government buildings. For a facility standardizing on one look, the single 630 satin stainless finish keeps replacements consistent across openings.
