Dormakaba THKIT93ONLY – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Dormakaba THKIT93ONLY hold open kit work on a TS93 closer with a standard arm, or only a track arm?
Track only. The THKIT93ONLY is configured for track-style closer arm installations on TS93 Series closers, and the fit depends on that track geometry. If your TS93 is installed with a regular push or pull side arm and slide-free linkage, this assembly is not the part for it.
2) Do I have to replace the whole TS93 door closer to get hold open back, or can I just fix the track?
You can restore hold open without swapping the closer body. The THKIT93ONLY is a targeted replacement hold open assembly for TS93 Series track installations, so a technician replaces the hold open components in the track and leaves the existing closer in place.
3) Can I use this hold open assembly on a Dormakaba closer other than the TS93?
No. The assembly is designed exclusively for TS93 Series door closers in track-mounted installations. Other Dormakaba closer families use different track and arm geometry, so confirm the closer body is stamped TS93 before ordering.
4) Is the THKIT93ONLY a genuine Dormakaba part or an aftermarket copy?
It is a genuine Dormakaba OEM replacement, sourced from Dormakaba and built to the original TS93 Series specifications. For a property manager standardizing on TS93 closers across a building, that means the hold open behaves the same as the openings you are not servicing.
5) What exactly is in the THKIT93ONLY, and does it include a track?
It is the hold open assembly by itself, not a complete track and not a closer. The part number is THKIT93ONLY, and it is stocked as a single item with no size, hand or finish options to pick. If your existing TS93 track is damaged rather than just the hold open mechanism, you need a track as well.
6) Is the THKIT93ONLY rated for commercial traffic, or is it a light-duty part?
Commercial. It is built for commercial door hardware applications and is classified as a commercial product, with typical use in offices, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, warehouses, multi-tenant residential and government buildings.
7) Do I need to specify handing or door size when ordering the THKIT93ONLY hold open kit?
No options to specify. THKIT93ONLY ships as one configuration, so there is no hand, size or finish selection. Order one per opening you are servicing.
