Dormakaba TP80 CH – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Dormakaba TP80-CH and what does it actually do?
The TP80-CH is a terrazzo pan, the recessed metal pan that sets into the floor around a BTS80 Series concealed floor closer. It gives the terrazzo pour a clean edge and the correct profile so the closer sits flush with the finished floor. It is not the closer itself and it contains no hydraulics, spindle, or arm.
2) Does the TP80-CH terrazzo pan work for center hung doors or offset pivot doors?
Both. The TP80-CH supports center hung mounting and 1-1/2 inch offset mounting, so the same pan covers the two most common floor closer pivot arrangements. If your door runs on a different offset, this is not the pan for it.
3) Will this terrazzo pan fit a Dormakaba BTS75V or other non-BTS80 floor closer?
The TP80-CH is made for the BTS80 Series specifically. Pan and cement case dimensions differ between Dormakaba floor closer families, so match the pan to the closer series you are actually installing rather than assuming it drops onto another model.
4) Is the TP80-CH pan rated for commercial traffic or is it a residential part?
It is a commercial-duty component, catalogued for commercial door hardware and used in offices, schools, healthcare, retail, and municipal buildings where BTS80 concealed closers are installed in terrazzo floors.
5) Do I order the TP80-CH by model number or is there a different part designation?
Order it as Dormakaba model TP80 CH. The CH suffix identifies the center hung / 1-1/2 inch offset version of the BTS80 terrazzo pan.
