DynaLock 4854 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the DynaLock 4854 glass door bracket work on a frameless glass door with no top rail?
That is exactly what it is for. The 4854 bracket lets you mount a magnetic lock armature to a glass door that has no top rail to drill or tap into. It clamps to the glass instead, and rubber and metal shims are used to protect the glass as it is tightened down.
2) What glass thickness does the DynaLock 4854 bracket fit?
It fits 3/8, 1/2 or 3/4 inch thick glass doors. Shims take up the difference, so one bracket covers all three thicknesses. If your glass is thinner than 3/8 inch or thicker than 3/4 inch, this is not the bracket.
3) Which DynaLock magnetic locks does the 4854 bracket go with?
The 4854 is the glass door bracket for the DynaLock 2511 and 2522 magnetic locks. Pairing it with a different mag lock model is not covered, so match the bracket to the lock you are actually installing.
4) Do I get the armature with the 4854 bracket, or do I order that separately?
The 4854 is the bracket and shim hardware only. The armature comes with the 2511 or 2522 magnetic lock, so order the lock (or its replacement armature) separately along with the bracket.
5) My glass door has an aluminum top rail. Do I still need the 4854 bracket?
No. The 4854 exists for glass doors with no top rail. If your door has a top rail, the armature can be through-bolted or tapped into the rail using the mounting hardware supplied with the 2511 or 2522, and the glass clamping bracket is unnecessary.
6) Is the DynaLock 4854 bracket rated for commercial openings?
Yes, it is a commercial door hardware accessory, sold as part of DynaLock's electronic access control line. Typical use is storefront and interior glass entries where a mag lock is controlled by a card reader or push button.
