B-LINE SB315A096FB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line SB315A096FB auxiliary support UL Listed for electrical work?
Yes, the SB315A096FB carries a UL Listed marking, which is typically what an inspector or a spec on a healthcare, school, or government job wants to see before a support column goes in under cable tray or busway.
2) What finish does the B-Line SB315A096FB come in, and can it be left exposed in a finished space?
It ships with a flat black powder coat over steel. That's the usual choice where the support stays visible, open-ceiling retail, lobbies, or a data room, since it blends with black-painted deck and tray without additional field painting.
3) What is an Eaton B-Line auxiliary support pipe column actually used for?
It's a floor-mounted steel column used as an auxiliary support, the vertical leg you stand up when there's no structure overhead or nearby wall to hang from. Cable tray, conduit racks, and busway runs get carried off it instead of off the deck. If you do have deck or wall steel available, trapeze hangers or wall brackets are the lighter and cheaper approach; the column is for the spans where you don't.
4) What is the correct part number to order the 8 foot flat black B-Line pipe column?
Order it as Eaton B-Line SB315A096FB. The 096 in the designation tracks the 96 inch height and FB the flat black finish, which is how you tell it apart from the other lengths and finishes in the SB315A run.
