B-LINE BA-2-9 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the BA-2-9 acoustical tee fastener UL listed for electrical fixture support?
Yes, the BA-2-9 is UL/CUL listed, and its stated application is supporting electrical fixtures from standard 0.56 inch T-bars. That listing is what inspectors on commercial and institutional jobs typically want to see on grid-mounted fixture support hardware.
2) Do I need tools to install a B-Line acoustical tee fastener in a suspended ceiling?
It is a twist fastener, so it goes onto the T-bar and turns to lock rather than requiring drilling or screws into the grid. At .02 lb each they are handled one-handed from a ladder, which is the point of the design when you are hanging fixtures across a large ceiling.
3) What is the B-Line BA-2-9 part number and who makes it?
BA-2-9 is the manufacturer part number, from the Eaton B-Line series of acoustical tee and t-bar fasteners. It is the black-finish 0.56 inch twist fastener rated to 25 lbs.
