B-LINE 126-12LC – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Eaton B-Line 126-12LC closure plate used for in a cable tray or wireway run?
It is a closure plate, a steel cover panel that closes off an opening in a NEMA 12 enclosure or raceway section so the assembly keeps its dust-tight, drip-tight rating. Model 126-12LC is steel and carries the NEMA 12 designation.
2) What size opening does the B-Line 126-12LC closure plate cover?
The plate measures 17.5 in by 12 in by 6 in as published (length/depth 17.5 in, width 12 in, height 6 in). Match those against the section you are closing before ordering, since a closure plate only seals correctly on the size it was built for.
3) Can I use this closure plate in a washdown or outdoor location?
No. The 126-12LC is a NEMA 12 part, which covers indoor use against dust, falling dirt and dripping non-corrosive liquid. It is not the right choice for hose-down, wet, or outdoor exposure, where a NEMA 4 or 4X rated plate is needed instead.
4) Is the B-Line 126-12LC steel or stainless?
Steel. If your facility requires stainless for corrosion or food-contact areas, this is not the plate for that environment; the steel NEMA 12 construction here is intended for general indoor industrial use.
5) What exact part number should I order for the B-Line closure plate?
Order Eaton B-Line model 126-12LC. It is the single model offered for this steel NEMA 12 closure plate, so there is no finish or size option to specify.
6) How heavy is the B-Line 126-12LC plate, and is it a one-person install?
Published weight is 29 lb. That is manageable for one installer at ground level, but at 17.5 in long on a ladder or overhead run, plan on a second set of hands or a lift.
