B-LINE 66-4XSFCP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size opening does the B-Line 66-4XSFCP closure plate cover?
The Eaton B-Line 66-4XSFCP closure plate measures 7.75 x 7.75 inches, so it covers a square 6x6 style wireway or pull box opening in that footprint. Plate stock is .067 inch thick and the plate weighs 1.753 lb.
2) Is the 66-4XSFCP closure plate rated for washdown or outdoor use?
It carries a NEMA 4X rating and is UL Listed. NEMA 4X covers hosedown, splashing water, and corrosion resistance, which is why the plate is stainless steel rather than painted carbon steel. That makes it suitable for food processing, car wash, and wet exterior wireway runs.
3) What does a feed-through closure plate actually do in a wireway run?
A feed-through closure plate blanks off an unused opening in a feed-through wireway or junction box section while keeping the enclosure rating intact. The 66-4XSFCP is the feed-through style plate in stainless, so conductors pass through the wireway and the plate seals the face you are not using.
4) Will a painted steel closure plate work instead of the stainless 66-4XSFCP in a wet area?
No, not if the run is NEMA 4X. Mixing a painted carbon steel plate into a stainless 4X wireway defeats the corrosion rating at that joint and it will rust out first. The 66-4XSFCP is stainless steel with a brushed finish so it matches 4X stainless wireway both in rating and appearance.
5) What part number do I order for the stainless 4X feed-through closure plate?
Order Eaton B-Line 66-4XSFCP. It is a single configuration, no finish or size options to specify: stainless steel, brushed, NEMA 4X, 7.75 x 7.75 inches.
6) Does the 66-4XSFCP closure plate come with gasket and mounting hardware?
The 66-4XSFCP is supplied as the closure plate itself. Plan on using the screws and gasketing specified for your wireway section to maintain the NEMA 4X seal, since the rating only holds if the plate is fastened and sealed the way the enclosure calls for.
