1) Can the B-Line ADI-50FL drop-in anchor be used in block or brick, or only poured concrete?
The ADI-50FL is specified for solid concrete only. Hollow block, brick veneer, and grout-filled CMU are not covered by that application, so for those bases you want a sleeve or screw anchor rated for hollow or masonry base material instead.
2) Why choose a drop-in anchor over a wedge anchor for hanging pipe or strut off a concrete ceiling?
A drop-in sets flush with the concrete face and leaves nothing protruding, so you thread rod in only where you need a hanger and you can remove the rod later without touching the anchor. That is what the smooth wall, flush-mount design of the ADI-50FL is for. A wedge anchor is a one-piece stud that stays sticking out of the slab permanently, which is fine for bolting a base plate down but awkward for rod-hung trapeze and sprinkler or conduit runs where hanger locations shift.
3) Is the B-Line ADI-50FL anchor UL Listed for electrical support work?
UL Listed, which is what an inspector or a spec writer on an electrical raceway support submittal usually wants to see on the anchor as well as the strut. Eaton catalogs it in its electrical fastener line.
4) Is the ADI-50FL stainless or plated steel, and can I use it outdoors?
Material is steel. There is no stainless or corrosion-resistant designation on the ADI-50FL, so treat it as an interior, dry-location anchor. For exterior slabs, parking structures, pool rooms, or anywhere washdown or chlorides are in play, specify a stainless drop-in.
