The B-Line ASA-50-300HNSS4 sleeve anchor is rated for both solid and hollow core base materials, which is the main reason to pick a sleeve type over a wedge anchor. Wedge anchors need solid concrete to expand against; the expanding sleeve on this one spreads load along the hole, so it also works in hollow block and masonry where a wedge anchor would spin or pull out.

It is made from type 304 stainless steel, so it holds up in damp, outdoor, and washdown locations where a zinc plated carbon steel anchor would rust and stain the substrate. Type 304 is the usual choice for exterior strut, conduit, and equipment mounting; for chloride heavy environments such as coastal or pool chemical rooms, 316 is the step up.

Order by the Eaton B-Line manufacturer part number ASA-50-300HNSS4. The SS4 suffix is the type 304 stainless version, so if the anchors already in the wall are plated steel, this is not a like for like visual match even though it installs the same way.

A sleeve type expansion anchor is supplied as a complete assembly: the bolt, the expander sleeve, and the nut and washer that you tighten to set it. Nothing else is needed on the fastener side. You do need the correct carbide masonry bit for the hole and a hammer drill, neither of which ships with the anchor.

Sleeve anchors are through-set: you drill the hole with the fixture in place, drop the anchor through the fixture hole into the substrate, then tighten the nut to expand the sleeve. That makes them practical for mounting strut channel, brackets, and enclosures where the fixture holes are already punched, since the hole in the base material and the hole in the fixture are the same size. Set-type anchors that require the hole to be drilled and the anchor set before the fixture goes on behave differently.
