B-LINE AW2424P – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the AW2424P panel steel or fiberglass?
Steel, not fiberglass. It's a 12 gauge steel sub-panel with a white powder coat, sold as an accessory for B-Line fiberglass enclosures. If you need a non-conductive backplate for an isolation requirement, this is not it.
2) Can I use this back panel in a washdown or outdoor enclosure?
Yes. The AW2424P is part of the NEMA 4X accessory line for indoor and outdoor use, so it's intended for enclosures rated against hosedown, windblown dust and corrosion. The panel sits inside the sealed box, so the enclosure gasket and latches, not the panel, hold the 4X rating.
3) Will 12 gauge steel hold drilled and tapped holes for DIN rail and starters?
Yes. At 12 gauge, the panel is thick enough to drill and tap directly for DIN rail, wireway and component feet, which is why sub-panels are specified in that gauge rather than a lighter sheet. Drill it out of the box before installing so chips don't land in the enclosure.
4) Does the AW2424P come with mounting hardware or an enclosure?
The AW2424P is the back panel only. It's an accessory item for B-Line fiberglass enclosures, so the box, the collar studs or standoffs it mounts to, and any terminal kits are ordered separately.
