The ten diamond Grip Strut plank is listed as OSHA compliant, and it is built for safe, sturdy footing where non-slip is required. The pierced and formed diamond openings give traction in oil, ice, and mud, which is the reason it gets specified for catwalks, platforms, and mechanical access decking rather than smooth plate.

The finish here is mill-galvanized steel, which is zinc applied to the coil before forming. It handles normal indoor industrial exposure and sheltered outdoor use, but the cut and pierced edges created during fabrication are not re-coated, so in a constant wash-down, coastal, or chemically aggressive environment a hot-dip galvanized after fabrication or stainless plank is the better call.

The diamond count refers to how many rows of pierced diamond openings run across the width of the plank. Ten diamond corresponds to the 24 inch width here. If you need a narrower catwalk or a stair tread instead of full-width decking, you step down to a lower diamond count; if you are decking a wide platform, you run multiple 24 inch planks side by side across your supports.

This plank is formed from 14 gauge steel with a 4.5 inch deep channel, and that channel depth is what carries the load, not the sheet thickness alone. For foot traffic and MRO access on normally spaced supports it is the common specification. If you are rolling carts, staging equipment, or setting supports far apart, move to a heavier gauge or a deeper channel section rather than stretching the span on this one.

What ships is the plank itself, model 104514F 10 GL, in steel with a mill-galvanized finish. Hold-down clips, saddle clips, bolts, and any framing or support steel are ordered separately, so build those into your takeoff before the crew shows up to deck the platform.

The 120 inch plank can be field cut to length like any formed steel channel section. Two things to plan for: cutting removes material from the channel ends, so land the cut over or near a support, and the mill-galvanized coating will leave bare steel at the cut, which should be touched up with a cold galvanizing compound if the deck sees any moisture.
