B-Line Eaton series imperial cable tray and ladder, 4" Height, 13.25" Length, 24" Width, 24" and 6" Tray widths, Series 2-5 straight reducer, Aluminum

The Eaton B-Line 4A-24-SR06 is a straight reducer that transitions a 24 inch wide tray down to a 6 inch wide tray in line, without offsetting the run. It is a Series 2-5 straight reducer with a 4 inch side rail height and 13.25 inches of length along the run. Use it where the cable fill drops off after a pull point and you want to carry the remainder on a narrower tray.

It matches 4 inch side rail height tray, and the wide end is 24 inches while the narrow end is 6 inches. Both tray sections have to be the same 4 inch rail depth and the same series for the rail profile and splice hole pattern to line up. If your run is 6 inch deep rail, or a different width than 24 in to 6 in, this is the wrong reducer.

Aluminum. That matters on two counts: it keeps the reducer compatible with an aluminum tray run so you are not mixing aluminum and galvanized steel at a splice, and the piece only weighs 3.72 lb, so one person can hold it in place while the splice plates go on.

The 4A-24-SR06 reducer is UL Classified. That is the classification a cable tray fitting carries for use as an equipment grounding conductor path when the run is bonded per the installation instructions. No other rating is carried on the part.

The 4A-24-SR06 ships as the reducer section itself. Splice plates, bolts and any additional tray supports at the transition are ordered separately, and you need them at both ends since the reducer joins two different tray widths. Plan support near the transition rather than letting the reducer hang mid-span.

A straight reducer keeps both tray sections on a common centerline, so the narrow tray sits centered in the run. Pick it when the run stays centered on its supports and hangers. An offset or right/left hand reducer is what you want when the narrow tray has to stay flush with one side rail, for example when the tray runs tight along a wall or you need to keep one edge aligned for a drop-out. The 4A-24-SR06 is the straight, centerline version.

Order Eaton B-Line 4A-24-SR06. The designation reads out as 4 inch rail height, aluminum, 24 inch wide tray, straight reducer to 6 inch. Quoting that number avoids getting a steel version or a different narrow-end width.

It takes up 13.25 inches along the run. Deduct that from your straight tray sections when you lay out the transition, and account for it in the span between supports so the reducer is not left unsupported over a long gap.
