A vertical inside bend turns the tray run upward or downward while keeping the cables on the inside of the curve, so the tray follows structure like a beam, ceiling drop, or equipment entry without breaking the run. The B-Line Eaton 4A-18-30VI12 does that turn at 30 degrees on a 12 inch radius. If your run has to turn the other way, with the cables on the outside of the curve, you need a vertical outside bend instead, not this fitting.

It does. The fitting is built on a 12 inch radius, so cables carried through it are curved over that radius rather than a sharp corner. If the cable you are pulling calls for a larger minimum bending radius than 12 inches, this fitting is the wrong one and you need a larger radius bend in the same 18 inch width.

Figure 13.692 inches of length for the fitting itself, on a 12 inch bend radius. That is the number to drop into your layout between straight sections when you are dimensioning the run and setting hanger locations, since the bend consumes run length that the straights then do not have to cover.

The 4A-18-30VI12 vertical inside bend carries CSA certification, which is what a Canadian inspector will be looking for on the tray system.

Aluminum is the material here, and the weight shows why crews pick it: this 18 inch bend comes in at 4.154 lb, light enough for one person to set and hold while bolting up overhead. Aluminum also holds up in damp and corrosive interior environments without galvanizing. Where you need higher load capacity per span or the spec calls out steel tray, order the steel equivalent instead.

The 4A-18-30VI12 is the bend fitting alone. Splice plates and the hardware to connect it to the adjoining straight sections are ordered separately, as are the hangers or trapeze supports at each side of the bend. Plan on connection hardware at both ends of the fitting.
