It's a vertical inside bend, meaning the tray turns through 90 degrees with the fitting's radius on the inside of the turn, cables riding the concave side. That's the fitting you use where a horizontal run drops or rises and the cables stay tight to the inside of the bend. If your run turns the other way, with the cables carried over the outside of the curve, you need the vertical outside bend instead, not this part.
