It is a 30 degree vertical outside bend for Series 2-5 aluminum cable tray, used where a tray run has to pitch downward over an obstruction or follow a sloped ceiling or floor. Outside bend means the fitting turns the run away from the tray's load side, so it is the piece you use when the tray crests over something rather than dips under it. Rise angle is 30 degrees on a 12 inch radius.

Aluminum. It is the right match if your straight sections are aluminum Series 2-5 tray, and it keeps the run light for overhead support spacing. Mixing aluminum fittings into a galvanized or stainless steel tray run is generally avoided for both bolt-up fit and dissimilar metal contact, so specify aluminum throughout. The fitting itself weighs 4.9 lb.

It is CSA certified, which is what most Canadian jobs and a lot of industrial specs call for on tray and tray fittings.

The 12 inch radius sets how sharply the cable has to flex through the elevation change. Power and data cable both have a minimum bend radius from the cable manufacturer, and the tray fitting radius has to be equal to or larger than it. The 6A-06-30VO12 is the bend section itself. Splice plates and the bolt and nut hardware that join it to the adjacent straight tray sections are ordered separately and have to match the Series 2-5 aluminum rail. Count two splice connections per fitting when you build the order.
