A left reducer is the transition fitting that steps a cable tray run down from one width to a narrower one while keeping the left side rail in line. Model 6A-18-LR06 goes from an 18 inch tray to a 6 inch tray, so the reduction all happens on the right side and the left rail stays straight. Use it where you drop conductors off a main feeder tray and continue with a smaller branch tray, and you need the left edge to follow a wall or a fixed structural line. If you need the offset on the other side, or split evenly on both sides, you want a right reducer or a straight (symmetrical) reducer instead.

Aluminum. Plan a support at or immediately adjacent to the transition. A reducer is a fitting, not a rated span member, and at 14.97 inches long it is short enough to sit between two hangers placed at the connection points on either end. Spacing on the straight tray sections either side follows the load and span class of that tray, not this fitting.
