A vertical outside bend takes the tray run over an obstruction or up a change in elevation, bending away from the cable side so the cables stay on the outside of the curve. This B-Line 6A-12-30VO24 fitting turns the run 30 degrees on a 24 inch radius, which is the sweep that protects the cable bend radius through the elevation change. If your run needs to drop rather than rise past the obstruction, you want a vertical inside bend instead.

Plan on 17.598 inches of length for the fitting itself. That is the dimension to subtract when you lay out the straight sections on either side of the elevation change, and it is set by the 24 inch radius and the 30 degree sweep. Order your straight tray lengths after you have accounted for it, or you end up field-cutting.

Order splice plates and their bolt hardware separately. The 6A-12-30VO24 is the bend fitting on its own, so for each end you connect you need a matching Series 2-5 aluminum splice plate set, plus bonding jumpers if the tray is serving as your grounding path.
