B-Line Eaton series imperial cable tray and ladder, 6" Height, 21.91" Length, 30" Width, 30" and 6" Tray widths, Series 2-5 left reducer, Aluminum

It is a left-hand reducer fitting that steps a 30 inch wide tray down to a 6 inch wide tray, keeping the reduction on the left side so one side rail stays in a straight line. Use it where a large feeder tray branches down to a smaller run and you need the transition made with a factory fitting instead of field-cut tray.

Handing is decided by which side rail stays straight through the transition. Model 6A-30-LR06 is the left reducer: looking in the direction of the cable run, the reduction is taken on the left and the right rail continues straight. If your smaller tray needs to stay flush on the opposite side, order the right-hand version instead. Ordering the wrong hand puts the branch on the wrong side of the run.

Aluminum. That keeps the fitting light for overhead work at 7.6 lb and suits it to damp or corrosive areas where a plain steel tray would need coating. Mixing it into a steel tray run means dissimilar metals at the splice, so plan the splice hardware accordingly.

The reducer is CSA certified, which is the listing most Canadian electrical inspectors look for on tray and tray fittings. That is the only certification carried on the part record.

Order Eaton B-Line part 6A-30-LR06. The number reads out as 6 inch rail height, aluminum, 30 inch wide inlet, left reducer to 6 inch.

What ships is the reducer section itself, 30 inch to 6 inch, 6 inch deep, in aluminum. Splice plates and their bolt hardware for joining the fitting to the straight tray on each end are ordered separately in the matching series and material, as are any supports needed at the transition.

A reducer changes tray width in line, it does not create a branch. The 30 inch to 6 inch left reducer carries the whole run down to 6 inches wide. If you need a 6 inch tray to leave a 30 inch main while the main continues at full width, you want a tee or a cross fitting rather than this part.
