A vertical outside bend carries the tray run over an obstruction or down a drop where the tray pitches away from the cable, bending the run 45 degrees in the vertical plane. Eaton B-Line model 6A-42-45VO24 is the aluminum version for 42 inch wide, 6 inch deep Series 2-5 ladder tray, with a 24 inch inside radius. If your run needs to bend the other way (tray turning up toward the cable), that is an inside bend, a different fitting.

The fitting measures 29 inches in length, so allow that much along the run plus your straight sections when you lay out supports. The 24 inch radius is the inside bend radius, which is what governs the cable bending radius through the fitting.

Aluminum. At 9.4 lb for a 42 inch wide fitting it is light enough for one person to set in place overhead, and aluminum is the usual pick where corrosion is a concern or where you want lower dead load on the structure. If your spec calls for hot dip galvanized or stainless steel tray, this is not the matching fitting.
