A vertical inside bend turns the tray run up or down while keeping the cables on the inside of the curve, so the tray follows a ceiling step, a beam, or a change in elevation without breaking the run. Eaton B-Line model 6A-42-45VI36 makes that turn at 45 degrees on a 36 inch radius. If your elevation change needs the cables on the outside of the curve, you want a vertical outside bend instead, not this fitting.

That is exactly what it is built for. The 6A-42-45VI36 fitting is 42 inches wide with a 6 inch side rail height, in aluminum, so it lines up with a 42 inch wide by 6 inch deep Eaton B-Line Series 2 through 5 aluminum ladder tray. It will not fit a narrower or shallower tray width without a reducer.

Allow 38.18 inches of length for the fitting itself. That is the overall run dimension of the 45 degree, 36 inch radius bend, and it is what you subtract from your straight-section takeoffs when laying out the run.

It is CSA certified, so it meets a spec line calling for CSA on the fitting. That covers Canadian jobs and specs written to CSA rather than to a UL listing.

Order Eaton B-Line 6A-42-45VI36. The code reads out as 6 inch rail height, aluminum, 42 inch width, 45 degree vertical inside bend, 36 inch radius. Splice plates and hardware are ordered separately from the fitting.

Aluminum tray is the common choice where weight and corrosion resistance matter, including outdoor and damp industrial areas, and it is non-magnetic. Where the environment is aggressively chemical or washdown, steel with hot dip galvanizing or a stainless run is usually specified instead. This fitting is aluminum only.

17.1 lb. A 42 inch wide fitting is awkward to handle at height because of its span rather than its mass, so plan on two people and support hangers set on both sides of the bend before you release it.
