A vertical outside bend carries the tray run over a change in elevation where the tray bends away from the cables, like going up and over an obstruction or transitioning from a wall drop to a ceiling run. B-Line part 6A-12-45VO48 makes that turn at 45 degrees on a 48 inch radius. If your run needs to bend the other way, with the cables on the inside of the curve, you need a vertical inside bend instead, not this fitting.

Figure 39.062 inches of developed length for this fitting. That is the number to subtract from your straight tray when you lay out the run so the splice points land where you want them. The large 48 inch radius is what makes it long; a tighter radius fitting of the same 45 degree angle takes up less space but bends the cables harder.

The 6A-12-45VO48 is the bend itself, 11.3 lb of aluminum fitting. Splice plates, bolts and the hangers or trapeze supports at each end are separate line items, so add them to the order with the straight sections. Plan a support near each side of the elevation change.

Order Eaton B-Line 6A-12-45VO48. The number reads out as 6 inch rail aluminum, 12 inch width, 45 degree vertical outside, 48 inch radius, which is how B-Line codes the Series 2-5 fittings. Give a distributor that string and they will pull the same part.

This bend is aluminum, which is the usual pick where weight matters and where mild corrosion resistance is needed without hot dip galvanizing. It also keeps the handling weight down, 11.3 lb for this fitting, which matters when a single installer is working off a lift. For heavy chemical exposure, a coated or stainless tray system is the better call, and it would have to be a matching 12 inch Series 2-5 profile either way.
