A vertical outside bend carries the tray run over an obstruction or up a change in elevation, turning the run upward around the outside of the curve (the tray's load surface is on the inside of the bend). The B-Line 6A-12-90VO48 makes that turn at 90 degrees on a 48 inch radius. If your run has to drop down and under instead, you want a vertical inside bend, not this fitting.

Plan for real space. The fitting's overall length/depth is 51 inches, so the 90 degree turn on a 48 inch radius eats a little over four feet of run in each direction before your next straight section picks up. In tight ceiling spaces or against a wall, a smaller radius fitting is the better choice.

21.3 lb for the fitting itself. That is light enough for one person to set on the hangers, but the supports either side of the bend still have to carry the fitting plus the cable fill through the turn, so keep a hanger close to each splice point.

Order the splice plates and hardware separately. Cable tray fittings connect to the adjacent straight sections with splice plates sized to the series and rail height, so budget a set for each end of the bend plus any expansion or grounding hardware your run calls for.

Aluminum tray holds up well outdoors and in damp or mildly corrosive environments without the coating maintenance galvanized steel needs, and it is far lighter to handle overhead. Where you need maximum load capacity over long support spans, steel tray is the usual call instead. This fitting is aluminum.
