B-Line Eaton series imperial cable tray and ladder, 6" Height, 51.000" Length, 18" Width, Series 2-5 vertical outside bend, Aluminum, 90° Angle, 48" R

A vertical outside bend carries the tray run over an obstruction or up a wall where the tray turns away from the cables, so the cables ride on the outside of the curve. The Eaton B-Line 6A-18-90VO48 makes a 90 degree vertical turn on a 48 inch radius. Use an inside bend instead when the run turns so the cables sit on the inside of the curve, such as coming down off a ceiling drop into a horizontal run. Picking the wrong one leaves the fitting facing backwards and the bolt holes will not line up with your straight sections.

It carries CSA certification, so it satisfies inspectors on Canadian projects that call for certified cable tray fittings. That is the only marking recorded for the 6A-18-90VO48.

The 6A-18-90VO48 is supplied as the bend itself. Splice plates, bolts, and the hangers or trapeze supports for the fitting are ordered separately, and cable tray fittings normally need support on both sides of the bend. Order matching aluminum splice hardware so you are not bolting steel plates onto an aluminum tray.

The bend weighs 22.3 lb. Aluminum construction keeps it light enough for a single installer to lift, but at 51 inches long and 18 inches wide it is awkward overhead, so plan on two hands on a lift or a second person when hanging it on a riser.

Aluminum is the usual pick where weight and corrosion matter: it is lighter to hang on long spans and holds up in damp or mildly corrosive environments without galvanizing. This bend is aluminum throughout. Steel tray is the alternative where higher load capacity or lower cost per foot governs, but you cannot mix the two in a single run without dealing with dissimilar metal contact at the splices.
