Plan for the full quarter turn: the fitting is a 90 degree horizontal bend on a 48 inch radius and measures 57.0625 inches overall in length. Off the centerline of the incoming run you are giving up roughly four feet in each direction before the tray straightens out again, so check your wall offsets and any column or duct in the corner before you commit to the 48 inch radius.

Horizontal only. The 6A-12-90HB48 is a Series 2-5 horizontal bend, meaning it turns the tray left or right in the same plane. To take a run up or down you need a vertical inside or outside riser of the same width and series, not this fitting.

Aluminum keeps the weight down and resists corrosion without a coating, which is why it is common in plants, tunnels and outdoor runs. This bend weighs 21.6 lb, light enough for a two-man lift onto trapeze hangers at height. Steel tray is the choice where you need higher load capacity per span or where a facility standard calls for hot dip galvanized; the two are not mixed in the same run.

The 6A-12-90HB48 is supplied as the bend itself. Splice plates, bolts and the hanger or trapeze supports at each end of the fitting are ordered separately to match the series and material, so add aluminum splice hardware for a 12 inch aluminum run to your order.

Cable bend radius drives the choice. Large power and fiber cable has a minimum bending radius, and a 48 inch radius fitting keeps the cable gently curved through the turn instead of forcing it hard against the side rail. Tighter radius bends save space but can violate the cable manufacturer's minimum bend radius. Check the largest cable in the tray before dropping to a smaller radius.
