A vertical outside bend carries the tray run over an obstruction or down from a higher elevation, turning the run 90 degrees in the vertical plane with the bend radius on the outside of the turn. The B-Line 6A-42-90VO48 fitting turns 90 degrees on a 48 inch radius, so cables sweep rather than break over a sharp edge. If you need the run to rise instead of drop over the obstacle, you want the inside bend version of the same fitting.

Plan on 81.11 inches of length for the fitting itself, which is the developed dimension of a 90 degree turn on a 48 inch radius. That is the space the bend consumes in the run before your next straight section starts, so check ceiling height or clearance to the obstruction against that number, not against the 48 inch radius alone.

CSA certification is carried on the 6A-42-90VO48 aluminum bend, which is what an inspector on a Canadian job will look for on the fitting.

The fitting weighs 30.4 lb, light enough for two people to set in place at height without a lift. It is aluminum rather than steel, which is why a 42 inch wide, 81.11 inch long fitting comes in that light. Support the bend at both ends per your tray support layout and add the cable fill load to that 30.4 lb when sizing hangers.
