Indoor, dry locations only. The 1818 SCF screw cover is a NEMA 1 enclosure part, which protects personnel against contact with the enclosed equipment and guards against falling dirt, but carries no rating against water, dust, or corrosive environments. For a washdown area, a loading dock, or anywhere exposed to weather, you need a NEMA 3R, 4, or 4X enclosure instead.

The hardware is .375-16, a 3/8 inch coarse thread flange nut. Any 3/8-16 bolt, stud, or bonding hardware you already stock will mate with it, which is what most panel shops use for grounding and internal panel mounting.

ANSI 61 gray paint over steel. That is the standard industrial gray used across most enclosure lines, so it will visually match other ANSI 61 gray boxes and gutter already on the wall.

It carries CSA C22.2 certification, which is what an inspector on a Canadian install will be looking for on a Type 1 enclosure part.

A screw cover like the 1818 SCF is the right call where the box is opened rarely, mostly pull boxes, splice points, and terminal enclosures, and where you want the cover fully removable for pulling conductors. Hinged covers make sense where someone is in the box regularly for resets or metering. Both are NEMA 1 indoor parts; the difference is access, not protection.

5.7 lb, 16 gauge steel. One person can lift and set it, but because it is a screw cover rather than hinged, you are holding it in place while starting the fasteners, so a second set of hands helps on an overhead or chest-height mount.
