B-LINE AW66P – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the B-Line AW66P back panel fit a 6 x 6 inch enclosure?
Yes. The Eaton B-Line AW66P is built as the flat back panel for 6 inch by 6 inch enclosures. The panel itself measures smaller than the box so it clears the enclosure walls and lands on the mounting studs: 6 in width, 4.875 in length/depth, 4.87 in height as listed. Order it to match a 6 x 6 box, not a larger one.
2) Does a fiberglass junction box come with a back panel, or do I order it separately?
Separately. The AW66P is a flat panel sold on its own for fiberglass enclosures, so on a 6 x 6 fiberglass box you order the box and the panel as two line items. Panel mounting hardware provision is part of the enclosure, not the panel.
3) Is the AW66P panel steel or fiberglass, and can I mount and drill devices to it?
It is 14 gauge steel with a white powder coated finish. That gauge takes drilling and tapping for DIN rail, terminal blocks, relays, or small contactors without flexing, and the white coating gives a bright background inside the box for wiring work. Weight is about .451 lb, so nothing about handling it is awkward.
4) Can I use the AW66P in a JIC or small pan enclosure as well as fiberglass?
Yes. Eaton lists the AW66P under JIC and small panels as well as flat panels for fiberglass enclosures, so it covers both applications at the 6 x 6 size.
5) What part number do I quote for the 6 x 6 white steel B-Line back panel?
AW66P is the Eaton B-Line part number. One model covers the item, so there is no finish or size option to specify beyond that number.
6) Is the AW66P back panel NEMA rated?
NEMA is the certification listed for the AW66P. Keep in mind the enclosure rating is what protects the contents; an interior back panel does not change the NEMA type of the box it goes into.
