They are channel mount. The brackets locate on mounting channel inside the Premier series enclosure rather than bolting flat to the back wall, so the enclosure needs the channel in place for the depth adjustment to work.
4) What material and finish are the B-Line 64AMK depth brackets?
Zinc, zinc plated. That finish is what carries the NEMA 4X rating alongside the enclosure, so in a damp or wash-down panel you are not introducing a bare steel part that will bloom rust before the box does.
5) How big are the 64AMK brackets, and will they eat up space in a shallow enclosure?
Each bracket is small: 1 inch height, 1 inch length/depth, 2 inches wide. In a shallow box the bracket footprint itself is not the issue, the standoff you set with it is, so measure your deepest mounted device against the enclosure depth before you set the position. Kit weight is 1.065 lb.
