Pre-galvanized steel is a mill zinc coating meant for dry interior work, damp indoor spaces, and covered areas. Cut ends on pre-galv strut are bare steel and will show rust first, so field cuts want a cold-galvanizing touch-up.

The designation is Eaton B-Line B22S-120GLV: B22 back-to-back channel, S slotted pattern, 120 inch length, GLV for pre-galvanized. Compare that against the stamping or the original submittal on your existing run. If the installed strut has slots on only one face, it is a single channel and not B22, and mixing the two changes fitting layout.

S is the standard slotted pattern: a continuous run of short slots down the channel back on 2 inch centers, so you can bolt through anywhere along the 120 inch stick without drilling. If your drawing calls for solid back (no holes) or a knockout pattern, the S designation is not what you want.

12 gauge steel is the standard heavy-duty thickness in the 1-5/8 inch strut family, and the B22 back-to-back section doubles the material depth over a single channel, which is why B22 is the usual choice for trapeze bridges and long unsupported spans. Lighter gauges in the same profile are intended for light fixture and small-pipe support. Span and load still have to be checked against your engineer's numbers for the hanger spacing you are using.

No hardware is included. What ships is the bare 120 inch B22 pre-galvanized channel, ordered as model B22S-120GLV. Spring nuts, hex bolts, washers, end caps, post bases, and any angle or wing fittings are separate line items and need to be added to complete the assembly.

Yes, it is normal practice. The 120 inch stick is field cut with a bandsaw, chop saw with a metal blade, or portable band saw, and the continuous S slot pattern means you still have bolt holes wherever the piece lands. Deburr the cut and hit the bare edge with zinc-rich paint, since the pre-galvanized coating stops at the cut.
