B-LINE B22-240GRN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the B-Line B22 strut channel a back-to-back double channel or a single channel?
B22 is the back-to-back profile: two 1-5/8 inch channels welded together, which is why it measures 1.62 inches in both height and width instead of the 1.62 x 13/16 of a half-height single. Use it where a single channel deflects too much, such as long unsupported trapeze runs or heavy pipe and conduit racks.
2) What is DURA GREEN finish on B-Line strut and where can I use it?
DURA GREEN is Eaton B-Line's green coating applied to the 12 gauge steel channel. It is a painted-type protective finish rather than a hot dip galvanized one, so treat it as suited to dry indoor and protected interior work. For wet, washdown, or exterior exposure, specify a galvanized or stainless channel instead.
3) What is the exact part number to order this green B-Line back-to-back strut?
Order Eaton B-Line part number B22-240GRN. That number breaks down as B22 back-to-back channel, 240 inch length, GRN for the DURA GREEN finish. Same channel in other finishes and lengths carries a different suffix, so match the full number when you are standardizing a building.
4) Can I cut this 20 foot strut down to length on site?
Yes, it is plain 12 gauge steel channel and cuts with a bandsaw, chop saw with a metal blade, or portable band saw. Field cuts leave bare steel through the DURA GREEN coating, so touch up the cut ends with a matching paint if the run matters cosmetically or sits anywhere with moisture.
