The B261-16HDG 45 degree knee brace is rated for a 450 lb load capacity. That is the brace itself; the strut it bolts to and the anchors into the structure have their own ratings, so on a trapeze or wall bracket run the weakest link governs what you can hang.

Hot-dipped galvanized is the finish on the B261-16HDG, which is the coating you want for exterior runs, parking structures, loading docks and damp mechanical rooms. Plain electro-galvanized (pre-galvanized) strut fittings are for dry interior use only. Keep the brace, the strut and the hardware all in the same HDG finish so you are not mixing coatings on one connection.

At 2.18 lb the brace is a one-hand part, so a single installer can hold it in place and start the channel nut. Add its weight to your dead load tally if you are close to the limit on a long trapeze run with several braces.
