B-LINE B166-46-22GRN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the B-Line B166-46-22GRN splice clevis fit B22 strut channel?
Yes. The B166-46-22GRN four hole splice clevis is made for channel types B22, B24 and B26. If your run is a different B-Line channel profile, this is not the right splice for it.
2) Does the B166-46-22GRN splice clevis come with the hardware, or do I have to buy screws separately?
Hardware is included. You get 1 splice clevis, 1 B466W plate, and 4 1/4-20 flat screws, so the splice can be made up out of the box without sourcing separate channel nuts or fasteners.
3) How much strut length does this splice clevis cover, and will it clear adjacent fittings?
The fitting measures 7.24 x 1.68 x 1.62 inches, so plan on roughly seven and a quarter inches of channel taken up by the splice. Keep hangers, clamps and other fittings outside that footprint, and allow for the 1.62 inch height where the clevis stands off the channel face.
4) What does a four hole splice clevis do on a strut run?
It joins two lengths of strut channel end to end into a continuous run. The clevis and its mating B466W plate sandwich the channel and are drawn together with the four 1/4-20 flat screws, giving you four fastening points across the joint instead of a two-bolt splice.
5) What is the DURA GREEN finish on this B-Line strut splice, and where can I use it?
DURA GREEN is the coating applied over the steel body of this four hole splice clevis. It is a painted/coated steel fitting rather than bare or plated steel, so match it to DURA GREEN channel if you want the run to look consistent across the job.
6) What screw size do I need if I am replacing the fasteners on a B166 splice clevis?
1/4-20 flat head screws, four of them. That is what ships with the splice clevis, so any replacement should match the same thread and flat head profile to seat properly in the countersunk holes.
