It is rated at a 250 lb load capacity. That is the figure to design to when you are bracing a cantilevered strut arm carrying conduit, pipe, or a small equipment mount. If the run is heavier, add a second brace or move to a supported (non-cantilever) layout.

Corner to brace length is 18-11/16 inches, so each leg of the triangle runs about that far out from the corner before the brace bolts up. Overall the part measures 18.68 x 24 x 1.62 inches. Check you have that much clear strut on both the vertical and horizontal legs past the corner fitting before you commit to this size.

Electro-plated zinc is a dry indoor finish. It is fine for conditioned interiors, mechanical rooms, and ceiling spaces. For exterior work, wash-down areas, parking structures, or anywhere it sees moisture and salt, specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless version of the same knee brace instead; electro-plate will rust at the cut edges and bolt holes.

The B261-24ZN is a two hole knee brace set at 45 degrees. It ties a vertical strut run to a horizontal one at a corner, triangulating the joint so the cantilevered leg does not sag or rack. One bolt hole at each end lands on the strut channel, one per leg. It is a bracing member, not a load-carrying support on its own.

The B261-24ZN is the steel brace only. You order the strut nuts, bolts, and washers separately, two sets per brace, sized to the channel you are mounting to. Plan on matching the hardware finish to the brace so you are not mixing plated and galvanized fasteners in the same run.

Each brace weighs 3.03 lb, light enough to hold in one hand on a ladder while you start the first bolt. It does mean the brace itself adds weight to a trapeze or cantilever assembly, so count it in when you are near the 250 lb capacity.

No certification applies to this part. It is a plain steel structural bracing fitting for strut framing, so it is not a listed electrical component. If your spec calls for a listed or labeled support assembly, that requirement sits with the channel and hanger system, not with the brace.
