B-Line B179SHRZN Eaton series strut fittings and accessories, 3.93" Height, 14" Length, 1.62" Width, 1.62lbs, Steel, Right bracing slotted bracket, Thickness 1/4 in, Electro-plated

The B179SHRZN is a right bracing slotted bracket from the Eaton B-Line strut fitting line. It is the angled brace that ties a strut run back to a wall, deck, or another strut to stop sway and carry diagonal load. Being the right-hand version, it braces in one direction only, so a job needing braces both ways takes the matching left-hand piece as well.

Six holes total: one 7/16 inch diameter round hole, plus four slots measuring 1 inch long by 13/32 inch. The slots give you adjustment along the brace so the angle can be set on site instead of being fixed by the hole pattern.

The finish is electro-plated zinc over steel, which is an indoor, dry-location finish. For exterior runs, rooftops, or damp mechanical spaces, specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless brace instead, since electroplating is a thin coating and cut edges will rust outdoors.

It measures 14 inches long, 3.93 inches high, and 1.62 inches wide, at 1.62 lb. The 1.62 inch width matches standard 1-5/8 inch strut channel face, so it sits flat on the channel rather than overhanging.

Yes. The B179SHRZN ships as the bracket alone. Plan on 3/8 inch strut nuts, bolts, and washers to attach it at each connection point, sized to the number of holes you are actually using out of the six.

Certifications on the B179SHRZN brace are listed as not applicable. It is a mechanical support fitting, not an electrical device, so specify it on structural support grounds rather than against an electrical listing.
