B-LINE B123GRN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the B-Line B123GRN twelve hole triple wing fitting used for?
The B123GRN is a steel triple wing strut fitting with twelve bolt holes, used to join strut channel members where three legs meet at a corner or bracket point. The three wings let you tie channel running in more than one plane from a single fitting instead of stacking flat plates. It measures 3.93 in height, 9.18 in length, and 1.68 in width.
2) How thick is the steel on the B-Line B123GRN strut fitting?
Quarter inch. The B123GRN is formed from 1/4 in steel, which is the heavier of the common strut fitting gauges and is what you want when the fitting is carrying load through the wings rather than just locating a member. Total fitting weight is 2.34 lb.
3) What does the DURA GREEN finish on the B-Line B123GRN mean for corrosion resistance?
DURA GREEN is Eaton B-Line's coated finish designation, and it is the finish this fitting ships in. If your job drawing calls out plain, electro-galvanized, hot dip, or stainless strut hardware, B123GRN is not that item, you would order the matching part number in the finish the spec names.
4) Are bolts, nuts, and channel nuts included with the B-Line B123GRN fitting?
The B123GRN is supplied as the fitting alone. Hardware to fasten it, channel nuts and hex bolts sized to your strut, is ordered separately. Plan on fasteners for as many of the twelve holes as the connection calls for.
5) I need to order the triple wing strut fitting in green, what is the exact part number?
Order B-Line part number B123GRN. That is the single model on the twelve hole triple wing fitting in the DURA GREEN finish, steel, 1/4 in thick.
6) Will a 9.18 inch long strut fitting fit in a tight ceiling space?
Check your clear space against all three numbers before you commit: the B123GRN runs 9.18 in on its long axis, 3.93 in, and 1.68 in. The long leg is what usually causes trouble in a congested overhead run near ductwork or above a lay-in grid. If you only have a few inches of reach, a smaller flat or angle strut fitting is the better choice.
