B-LINE B234LGRN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the B-Line B234LGRN corner angle left hand or right hand, and does handing actually matter?
The B234LGRN is the left hand version of the four hole gussetted 90 degree corner angle. Handing matters on gussetted angles because the gusset sits on one side of the corner, so the bolt holes face a fixed direction once the fitting is against the strut. If your connection needs the gusset on the opposite side, you need the right hand version instead. Order by opening orientation as you view the joint.
2) Does the B234LGRN corner angle come with bolts and channel nuts?
No. The B234LGRN is the gussetted corner angle only, a single steel fitting with four holes. You supply the channel nuts and hardware to fasten it to the strut, sized to your channel's nut series. Budget four nut-and-bolt sets per fitting if you are using all four holes.
3) What are the dimensions of the B-Line B234LGRN gussetted corner angle?
It measures 4.2 x 3.5 x 1.62 inches (height, length/depth, width) and weighs 1 lb. Those legs give you room for two bolt holes per side, four total. Check the 1.62 inch dimension against your strut face before ordering if you are working with anything other than standard 1-5/8 inch channel.
4) What does DURA GREEN finish mean on B-Line strut fittings, and where can I use it?
DURA GREEN is Eaton B-Line's green coating over the steel fitting. It gives you a coated surface rather than bare steel, and it visually matches DURA GREEN strut and other DURA GREEN fittings in the same run, which is what you want if a facility has already standardised on it. The base material is steel.
5) Should I use a gussetted corner angle or a plain 90 degree angle bracket on my strut framing?
A gussetted angle like the B234LGRN has a web across the inside of the corner, so the 90 degree relationship between the two legs resists opening up under load. A plain flat angle relies only on the bolted connection. Use the gussetted version where the joint carries weight or moment, such as a cantilevered support or a frame corner. A plain angle is fine for light alignment work and where the gusset would interfere with something passing through the corner. Note the gussetted version is handed, so you order left or right.
6) How do I order the exact part number for the B-Line left hand green gussetted corner angle?
Specify Eaton B-Line part number B234LGRN. The L in that number is the left hand designation and GRN is the DURA GREEN finish, so both the handing and the coating are carried in the single part number.
