B-Line B409-18GRN Eaton series strut fittings and accessories, 4.62" Height, 18" Length, 1.62" Width, 3.47lbs, Steel, Single channel bracket, Uniform load capacity 640 lbs, DURA GREEN

The B409-18GRN single channel bracket is rated for a uniform load capacity of 640 lbs. That is a uniform load figure, so a concentrated point load at the free end of the 18 inch arm will not reach the same number. Size your hanger spacing off the uniform rating and keep the load spread along the channel.

The B409-18GRN measures 4.62 x 18 x 1.62 inches (height, length, width as published). The 18 inch dimension is the run of the single channel arm, so it supports a projection out to roughly that distance from the mounting face. The 1.62 inch width is standard B-Line strut channel width, which is what lets standard strut nuts and fittings ride in it.

The channel section on the B409-18GRN is 1.62 inches wide, which is the common 1-5/8 inch strut profile, so standard strut nuts, pipe clamps, and channel fittings sized for 1-5/8 inch channel will seat in it. Confirm your fittings are the 1-5/8 inch series rather than the 13/16 inch half-height series.

It is a one-piece steel arm that bolts to a wall, column, or beam and gives you an 18 inch run of strut channel projecting off it. Electricians hang conduit racks, cable tray supports, junction boxes, and equipment off the channel face using strut nuts. It saves cutting and welding a separate piece of channel to a plate on site.

The B409-18GRN is supplied as the bracket alone, 3.47 lbs of steel. Anchors, through-bolts, or beam clamps for fastening it to the structure are ordered separately, as are the strut nuts and hardware for whatever you hang on the channel face. Match the anchor to your substrate and to the 640 lb uniform rating you intend to use.

Order by manufacturer part number B409-18GRN. The GRN suffix is the DURA GREEN finish; the 18 in the number is the 18 inch channel length. Eaton B-Line builds the B409 bracket in several lengths, so the number has to carry the length you want.

DURA GREEN is Eaton B-Line's green coating over the steel bracket. It gives the part a coated surface rather than bare steel, and it is the same finish family used across B-Line strut fittings, so a DURA GREEN bracket will visually match DURA GREEN channel and hardware on the same run. The bracket body itself is steel.
