B-Line B409-18ZN Eaton series strut fittings and accessories, 4.62" Height, 18" Length, 1.62" Width, 3.47lbs, Steel, Single channel bracket, Uniform load capacity 640 lbs, Electro-plated zinc

The B409-18ZN carries a uniform load capacity of 640 lbs. That is a uniformly distributed load across the bracket, not a point load hung at the free end, so keep heavy single-point loads closer to the strut face when you lay out the run.

It measures 18 inches in length, 4.62 inches in height and 1.62 inches in width, and weighs 3.47 lbs. The 18 inch length is the arm itself, so allow that much clear projection off the strut face plus whatever the load needs behind it.

It is steel with an electro-plated zinc finish. That suits dry indoor mechanical and electrical rooms and covered areas. For wet, washdown, coastal or corrosive environments, spec a hot dip galvanized or stainless strut bracket instead, since electro-plated zinc is a thin sacrificial coat.

A single channel bracket like the B409-18ZN is a one-piece cantilever arm that bolts to a run of strut and gives you an 18 inch shelf off the wall or column for conduit, cable tray, pipe, or equipment. Single channel means one channel section deep, so the load rating is lower than a double channel arm of the same length, but it takes up less room and less weight on the wall.

The B409-18ZN is supplied as the bracket only. Plan on ordering the channel nuts, spring nuts and hex bolts to attach it to your strut run, plus whatever clamps or straps hold the conduit or pipe on top of the arm.

Order it as B409-18ZN. The B409 is the single channel bracket series, 18 is the 18 inch arm length, and the ZN suffix is the electro-plated zinc finish.
