The bracket spans 18 inches overall, so the diagonal it forms reaches roughly that distance from the strut face, and the 4.93 inch height gives you the leg depth at the mounting end. Where a longer diagonal is needed, brace off a further-back strut member rather than stretching this part past its bolt pattern.
