B-LINE B2025SS6 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How much load will the B-Line B2025SS6 pipe clamp hold?
The B2025SS6 clamp is rated 400 lbs, and that rating already carries a safety factor of 5. So for a run of conduit on strut, you size the spacing of clamps against 400 lbs per clamp, not against some derated figure you calculate yourself.
2) What bolt size does this B-Line clamp take, and is the hardware included?
The clamp uses 1/4"-20 bolt/pin hardware. That is the standard channel-nut thread for light strut work, so it pairs with 1/4-20 strut nuts and bolts in your strut channel. Order the nut and bolt to match if you do not already have 1/4-20 hardware on the job.
3) Is the B2025SS6 strut clamp stainless, and can it go outdoors or in a wash-down area?
It is a Type 316 stainless steel clamp, which is the grade specified for coastal, chemical, and wash-down environments where 304 would pit. Note the spec data also lists the material as steel, so if your drawing calls out 316 specifically, confirm the material callout against the part before it goes into a corrosive area.
4) What are the dimensions and weight of the B-Line B2025SS6 clamp?
Stated measurements are .059 in height, .5 in length/depth, and 1.25 in width, at .09 lb each. That thin .059 in section and 1.25 in width is worth checking against the strut channel slot you are mounting into, and the light weight means a carton of them adds almost nothing to a service-truck load.
5) Does the B2025SS6 clamp carry any listings or certifications I can put on a submittal?
No listing or certification applies to this clamp; the certification field reads Not Applicable. What you can submit is the mechanical data: 400 lbs load capacity with a safety factor of 5, 1/4-20 bolt size, and Type 316 stainless construction. If your spec section demands a listed support component, this is not the part to submit.
6) Which part number do I order for the Eaton B-Line 316 stainless strut pipe clamp?
Order by manufacturer part number B2025SS6 from Eaton B-Line. The SS6 suffix is what signals the Type 316 stainless version, so if a plan or an old invoice shows a plain B2025 without that suffix, it is not the same corrosion grade.
7) What is a combination recess on a strut pipe clamp for?
The combination recess is the formed seat in the clamp body that cradles the pipe or conduit O.D. and keeps it from rolling or walking along the strut once the 1/4-20 bolt is drawn up. It is why this is an O.D. pipe conduit clamp rather than a flat plain strap: the recess does the locating, the bolt does the clamping.
