B-LINE B2026AL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size hardware does the B-Line B2026AL strut pipe clamp take?
The B2026AL uses 1/4-20 hardware. That is the bolt/pin size the clamp is drilled for, so your channel nut and bolt need to match 1/4-20 threads. If your strut run is already assembled with 3/8-16 hardware, this clamp is not the one to use on it.
2) Does the B2026AL clamp size to conduit by outside diameter or trade size?
It is an O.D. pipe conduit clamp, so it is selected on the outside diameter of the pipe or conduit, not the nominal trade size. Measure the actual O.D. of what you are hanging and match it, since trade size and O.D. differ on most conduit and pipe.
3) Is the B2026AL clamp aluminum or steel, and can I use it near dissimilar metals?
It is aluminum. That matters on the job because aluminum in direct contact with dissimilar metals in a wet or exterior location can set up galvanic corrosion, so pairing it with aluminum or compatible conduit and hardware is the cleaner install. Aluminum also keeps the clamp light, at about .1 lb each.
4) Does the B-Line B2026AL clamp come with the bolt and channel nut?
The B2026AL is the clamp itself, sized for 1/4-20 hardware. Order your 1/4-20 bolts and matching strut channel nuts separately so you have everything on the cart before the crew is on the lift.
5) What is the combination recess on the B-Line B2026AL clamp for?
The combination recess lets the clamp seat properly against the strut channel when it is bolted down, which is what keeps the pipe captured squarely rather than riding on an edge. It is an install feature, not an ordering option, so nothing extra to specify.
6) What are the dimensions of the B-Line B2026AL strut clamp?
It measures .063 in height, 2.117 in length/depth, and 1.25 in width. The .063 in figure is the material thickness of the clamp body, so plan your bolt length around that plus the channel nut and the pipe it wraps.
