1) Can the B-Line 1264 SC NK junction box be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
No. The 1264 SC NK is a NEMA Type 1 enclosure, which is indoor use only, for protection against dust and incidental contact with the enclosed equipment. It has no gasket and no watertight rating, so keep it out of wet, outdoor, or washdown locations. For those you need a Type 3R, 4, or 4X enclosure instead.
2) What are the actual box dimensions on the B-Line 1264 SC NK?
It measures 12 inches high, 6 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. The 4 inch depth is what usually decides the job, since it sets how much room you have behind the cover for splices, terminal blocks, or a small DIN rail.
3) Does this B-Line junction box come with knockouts, or do I have to drill it?
No knockouts. The SC NK designation means screw cover, no knockout, so the box body arrives blank and you punch or drill your own conduit entries wherever the run lands. That is an advantage on a custom layout and extra labor if you wanted ready-made holes.
4) How is the 1264 SC NK mounted to the wall?
Surface mount, using thru holes in the back of the box. You fasten straight through the back panel into the wall or strut with your own anchors or screws, which are not supplied. At 5.1 pounds empty it is light enough for two anchors into drywall backing, though block or strut is better for a loaded box.
5) How does the cover attach, and can one person take it off on a ladder?
The cover is screw-attached with plated screws, and it has keyhole slots so you can back the screws out partway and lift the cover off without removing them completely. That makes one-hand removal at height workable. Screw covers are slower to open than a hinged door, so if you expect frequent access, a hinged-cover enclosure is the better pick.
6) What gauge steel is the B-Line 1264 junction box, and will it match the other enclosures in my plant?
