1) Can a NEMA 1 B-Line 36308 SC NK junction box be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
No. The 36308 SC NK carries a NEMA Type 1 rating, which is indoor use only, for protection against incidental contact and falling dirt. It offers no protection against rain, hose-down, dust ingress or corrosive liquids. For wet or outdoor locations you need a Type 3R, 4 or 4X enclosure instead.

Fasteners are not supplied, so pick anchors rated for the substrate and remember the empty enclosure alone is 85.2 lb before any wire or components go in, which usually means through-bolting to studs, strut or masonry anchors rather than drywall anchors.
5) Is the cover hinged or does it screw on, and how hard is it to get off during service work?
Screw cover, not hinged. The cover is retained by plated screws and has keyhole slots, so once the screws are backed out part way the cover lifts and drops off the slots without removing every screw completely, and it hangs during re-install. Good for a box that is opened occasionally; if you are in it daily, a hinged door enclosure is the better choice.
6) What gauge steel and finish is the B-Line 36308 SC NK, and will it match other gear in my electrical room?
The body is 12 gauge carbon steel with a painted finish in ANSI 61 grey, which is the standard grey used across most switchgear, panelboards and control enclosures, so it will read as a match alongside existing equipment.
